This year, I've been a paying member of two very different business growth communities.
One has 2,700+ members.
The other has 50.
And here's what I've learned: bigger isn't always better.
The large community generates serious revenue, but somewhere in the noise, connection gets lost. Members feel like numbers. They disconnect. They get disgruntled.
The smaller community? That's where the magic happens. There's intimacy. There's real connection between members and with the host who actually knows them. It has rhythm. It has flow. It feels good.
Here's the thing though: choosing a community (or creating one) isn't about what's trending. It's about energetic and strategic alignment with you.
I learned this the hard way. A year ago, I was convinced I should launch a membership. After digging into the model, I realized without a doubt it didn't match my personality, my business, or my capacity.
So today, we're unpacking the whole membership and community offer model. The upside. The shadow side. Because while it can be wildly effective for the right business owner, it's not for everyone. And that's the conversation worth having.
